United Methodist Women (UMW) is an internationally known faith-based organization of laywomen. Within our church, our UMW strives to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus through mission efforts that provide basic needs for women and children both in our community and globally.

Candle Burning – The United Methodist Women will be doing a Candle Burning in 2021 for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandparents’ Day and All Saints’ Day. After reaching our annual Candle Burning budget amount for missions, proceeds will go to the Building Our Future campaign. To honor or remember your mother or a mother figure, please complete the Candle Burning form accessible through the link below and enclose $5.00 for each person honored or remembered and give to Kandis, Susan, or Brenda, or drop in the offering plate. Checks should be made out to Four Oaks United Methodist Women or FOUMW. You may also mail your form and check to the church at PO Box 177, Four Oaks NC 27524 or drop them in the mail slot at the front Fellowship Hall door. Candle Burning Forms for Mother’s Day are due by May 2.

Community Christmas Drive Through Shopping List

The UMW collects food for the Community Christmas Drive Through each year. As before, we ask that individuals collect the items at home during the year. We ask that everyone check the expiration dates of their items keeping in mind the date of the Christmas Drive Through is December 18, 2021. Here are the monthly items we are collecting:

 

March – Spaghetti Noodles and Spaghetti Sauce in cans

April – Green Beans, 15 oz. cans

May – Corn, 15 oz. cans

June: Tuna or Chicken, 5 oz. cans

July – Mac N Cheese boxes

August – Bagged Rice and Ramen Noodles

September – Treet Meat

October – Mashed Potato and Gravy pouches

November – Peanut Butter (18 oz.) and saltine crackers
